GREAT BRITAIN

                (October 2002)

In October 2002, Wendy and I flew to London where I was going to be participating in an international business program at Oxford University.  During our stay, we were able to spend a few days sight-seeing in London and Oxford.  My sister, Amy, and her family also flew in from Latvia to meet us for a few days...  It had been over a year since we had seen them last, and it was great to see them again!!

Here's some pictures from our visit:

Wendy in front of the theater where we saw Les Miserables

Changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace

Westminster Abbey

In front of Big Ben

Shopping in Notting Hill

Some locals at a pub where we watched the English national team play in the EuroCup

Bridge of Sighs on the Oxford Campus

Blenheim Palace

Our favorite pub.  The local students said that we shouldn't go in because it was a "Biker Bar", but it was just a typical dive bar... reminded me of the Salty Dog in Gainesville.

Banquet dinner in the dining hall at Oxford

The Purple Turtle:  Low ceilings and cheap beer!

Kebabs were the late night food of choice.  These kebab stands were all over the place!
